You’ve just arrived at the pub and got the drinks in, before sitting down to take part in this week’s quiz, when the quizmaster asks everybody to pick a quiz team name. Suddenly, the pressure is on. When you’re trying to display a devastating wit that leaves other teams trembling in case your general knowledge is on a par, well, it’s certainly not the easiest of tasks.

Another film-inspired one, this quiz name puts an alcoholic spin on a literary classic. And what better time to whack out an alco-inspired option than during a quiz that’s (funnily enough) in a pub? Although tequila might not be the best drink of choice to keep your answers on form…so maybe save it for commiserations, or celebrations depending on how you place.

Who remembers this pop princess, then? The Hollaback Girl singer is still doing the rounds in pubs and clubs, but this time via the medium of quiz names. Incorporating ‘quiz team’ into your nom de guerre is no mean feat, so when you pull this genie out the bottle your teammates are sure to be impressed.

One for those who can appreciate a solid quote from Mean Girls. Co-inventor of the Burn Book, Gretchen Wieners only wants popular people to sit with her…and if you want a popular quiz team name, then this is the one for you. And if people don’t get it? Well, then we’re sorry that people are so jealous of you (need to know the film for that one to work, to be fair…).

The immortal line from the Philosopher’s Stone as muttered by Rubeus Hagrid, is a thing of polished beauty when you replace wizard with quizzard. Accio first place with this team name for sure!

Ah, the notorious store of luxurious lingerie. This one’s for the ladies looking to bring a bit of sass to the table.
