Technical Support Technician

The Company:

Mediatheme provides reliable, exciting and profitable touchscreen entertainment systems and services for our customers across the pubs, bars, hospitality, holiday parks and entertainment sectors. With games and Music to set your venue apart from the rest.

We’re backed by an experienced Research and Development team of product development engineers, who ensure our products remain innovative business propositions for our customers, meeting constantly changing market requirements as technology, social habits and tastes evolve.

As a member of our small, friendly Technical Support Team, providing support services to new and existing Customers. Support requests are normally received by phone, and cover all aspects of our product and associated equipment. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:00 based at our Hybrid/Oakham Office, some out of hours support will also be required on a rota basis working from home and is paid extra . We offer free parking and a competitive rate of pay for the right candidate

Role:
  • Provide technical support to users, resolving software and hardware issues
  • Communicate effectively with users to understand and troubleshoot problems
  • Utilise knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Android , and Windows
  • Make occasional on-site visits to resolve customer’s faults
  • Organize courier deliveries and collections Record details of support activities on
  • Manage and follow up daily resolution of customers
  • Pick and pack equipment for new installations, including setting up PC/Android Equipment
  • Assist with preparation of regular update and the testing of new software
  • Taking part in an Out of Hours Rota
  • Assist with LAN setup and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow for ticketing and tracking support requests
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware problems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a technical support role is desirable
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with a range of operating systems and software applications

The candidate should have experience working in a customer-focused environment, and have an excellent telephone manner. Must have good PC skills, knowledge of computer repair is preferable but full training will be given to the right candidate.
